Rolling Meadows, Il - Billy Keith McMinn, age 80, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at his son's home in Oakland, MS. Mr. McMinn is formerly of Batesville, MS.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. The McMinn family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, July 29, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 PM, and also Wednesday morning beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Batesville, Mississippi.
Billy Keith was born October 13, 1933 in Louisville, KY to the late Glynn B. and Miriam Paris McMinn. He received his B.A. degree in Accounting from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He was the owner of McMinn and Daughter Accounting Firm in Rolling Meadows, IL. Billy Keith was a member of the former Meadows Baptist Church in Rolling Meadows, IL. While living in Rolling Meadows, he became very active in his community. He was a member of the Medina Shrine Temple of the Scottish Rites, and was a Master Mason. Billy Keith held many positions in the community, including, former Alderman for Rolling Meadows, past president of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and of Romeds in Rolling Meadows. During his years as an active Shriner, he promoted the Shriners Children's Hospital in Chicago by helping coordinate clinics with doctors and, at the same time, provided transportation for children to and from the clinics. Billy Keith also was a coordinator and treasurer for the Salvation Army.
Billy Keith will be remembered by his loving wife, Sara Moody McMinn of Rolling Meadows, IL; daughter, Lorie L. Frank of Arlington Heights, IL; son, Keith McMinn (Elizabeth) of Oakland, MS; daughter-in-law, Baiba McMinn of Arlington Heights, IL; two sisters, Sherry Hawkins of Indianola, MS, Doris Wilson of Batesville, MS; ten grandchildren, Erik McMinn, Paul McMinn, Diana McMinn, Michael McMinn, Stephen Frank, Kevin Frank, Karmen McMinn, Brandon McMinn, Kameron McMinn and Kolton McMinn.
Billy Keith was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Harold McMinn; two sisters, Hortense Nichols, Janie Hill and one brother, Lindell McMinn.
