Funeral services will be Thursday August 28, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Pisgah Cemetery, in Courtland, MS. Rev. Kevin Crofford and Rev. Jay Anderson will officate the services. Visitation will also be Thursday August 28, 2008 from 1:00 P.M. till services at 2:00 P.M. William "Bill" Hawkins was born on February 23, 1925 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Barton Hawkins in Courtland, MS. He was a retired cableman with Western Electric. Member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Shipp Anderson Hawkins of Batesville, MS; daughter Mary Ellen Hawkins Curry of Beachwood, N.J.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
