Jimmie Weaver Allen, age 81, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 18, 2014 in Poplar Grove, AR.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Tullos presiding. Burial will follow in Crowder Cemetery. Those men honored to serve as pallbearers include: Damon Weaver, Chad Weaver, Ronnie Weaver, Gary Wayne Weaver, Tommy Joe Pittman, Tom Sawrie and Johnathan Chase Smith. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home.
Ms. Jimmie was born to Samuel Autrey & Amanda Martin Washington on November 4, 1932 in Judah, MS. She worked as a seamstress and was of the Pentecostal faith. Ms. Allen was extremely devoted to her church and her church family. Her hobbies included quilting and cooking.
She leaves many family members behind who will continue to cherish her memory, including: 3 daughters, Genece Groner of Pontotoc, MS, Linda Faye Woods of Batesville, MS, Shelia Kay Heafner of Pontotoc, MS; 2 sons, H.A. Weaver of Poplar Grove, AR and James Weaver of Batesville, MS; one sister, Johnnie Moss Elliot of Houlka, MS; 2 half-sisters, Carolyn Sue McQuillin of Iuka, MS and Alice Gamblin of Tyler, TX; 3 brothers, Eugene Washington of Atlanta, GA, Glenn Washington of Pontotoc, MS and Wayne Washington of Tupelo, MS; a half-brother, Michael Lane Washington of Houlka, MS; 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Those whom have preceded her in death include her parents, husband, J.W. Weaver, and one son, Jackie Wayne Weaver.
