Reverend Troy Lee Moses, Sr., age 61, of Crenshaw, MS passed away Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Wells Funreral Home Chapel in Batesville, MS with interment to follow in Longtown Cemetery in Crenshaw, MS. The family of Reverend Moses will receive friends from Noon until service time on Saturday at Wells Funeral Home.Troy was born to William Carrol & Joyce Reed Wilson on April 19, 1953 in Forest City, Arkansas. In the 1970s, he served his country as a United States Marine. Reverend Moses was the pastor for the Crenshaw Church of God. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and visiting with his fellow church members. But he was a fanatic wrestling fan, as well. Troy enjoyed being a 'handyman'. His philosophy was, "if it can't be repaired with duct tape or a zip tie, then it can't be fixed".His loved ones who have survived him, include his wife, Paula Lynn Butler Moses of Crenshaw, MS; 3 daughters, Jennifer Chambless (Eddie) of Terry, MS, Tracy Moses (Brian) of Metairie, LA, Stacy Moses of Terry, MS; 2 sons, Troy Lee Moses, Jr. (Tanya) of Como, MS, Brandon Ray Guy Moses (Kimberly) of Forest, MS; 2 sisters, Debbie Hartwick (Eddie) of Mississippi, Michelle Wetherington (Bob) of Columbus, GA; 2 brothers, Mike Lipe (Rose) of Colorado Springs, CO, Donnie Welch of Biloxi, MS; 9 grandchildren, Tabitha Chambless, Alyssa Hardin, Taylor Chambless, Brian Spiess, Jr., Destiny Moses, Kennedy Moses, Gunner Moses, Briggs Moses, Fallon Moses and 1 Great-Granddaughter, Skylar Aubree.Those who have preceded him include his parents and one sister, Phyllis Fowler.
