Lorraine Austin Bright

Lorraine Austin Bright, age 100, widow of the late M. Knox Bright, passed away Friday evening, March 28, 2014 at Sardis Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014, at Good Hope Baptist Church, 1541 Good Hope Rd, Batesville, MS.  Reverend Tim Morgan and Dr. Andy Brasher will be officiating the services. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Monday at the church. Lorraine was born to John and Stella Hudson Austin on October 5, 1913 in Panola County, Mississippi. She was a retired store clerk, and also an active member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Bright leaves behind her daughter, Linda Bright Merriman (Bobby) of Batesville, Mississippi; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Those serving as active pallbearers include: James Horace Finnie, Jimmy Barnett, Zac Bolen, Justin Downs, Larry Bright and John Rogers.
