Mr. Jimmy J. Potts, age 82, passed away early this morning, Monday March 10, 2014, at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, Mississippi.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Batesville, MS. Mr. Hal Johnson will officiate the service.
Jimmy was born to Jimmy Avant & Bertha Johnson Potts on May 20, 1931 in Batesville, MS. He worked as a truck driver and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Those loved ones he leaves behind to continue his legacy, include his daughter, Theresa Massie (Arthur) of Sardis, MS; son, Steve Potts of Carthage, MS; 2 sisters, Quay Neal of Germantown, TN and Ree Marsh (Bud) of Millington, TN; one brother, Van Potts of Batesville, MS and 3 loving grandchildren, Kris Potts, Cole Massie (Lindsay), and Jeremy Massie; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family members whom have gone on before Mr. Jimmy, include his 2 wives, Joan G. Potts & Rosemary Bracato Potts; one sister, Quebel Swindle, his brother, W.L. Potts and his parents.
