Bobby Lee Woodruff, age 81, widower of Dorothy Jean Woodruff, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, Mississippi.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Mississippi. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at Wells Funeral Home.
Mr. Woodruff was born to Charles B. Woodruff and Eva Mae Shelton on December 11, 1932 in Bolivar County, Mississippi. Bobby was retired from the Mississippi Department of Health, Sanitation Division. He was an avid outdoorsman and the former President of the Benoit Hunting Club as well as being active in the Ozark Hunting Club. Mr. Woodruff was a member and Deacon at Skene Baptist Church in Skene, Mississippi. Many people in the Bolivar County area will remember Mr. Bobby Lee for his passion for building and working on Jeeps.
Those he leaves behind includes his two sons Joseph Woodruff of Water Valley, Mississippi and James Woodruff of Roanoke, Virginia; two brothers C.S. Woodruff of Skene, Mississippi and Walter R. Woodruff of New Orleans, Louisiana; three granddaughters Brittney Woodruff, Amanda Woodruff and Samantha Burnside; one grandson Tyler Woodruff; and two great grand children.
