Frances Smith Stanley

Frances S. Stanley, age 86, widow of Paul Herbert Stanley, Sr., passed away on Thursday morning, February 27,2014 in Sardis Nursing Home. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m Sunday, 3/2/14, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home. Frances was born to Christine Fisher & David H. Smith on February 9, 1928, in Courtland, MS. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church, Batesville. Mrs. Stanley enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting. During the spring and summer months, she spent many hours gardening. Those she leaves behind include her daughter, Lea Ann Stanley Kain of Las Vegas; one son, Paul Herbert Stanley, Jr. of Batesville, MS; 2 sisters, Mary Louise Drake of Desoto County, MS and Martha Todd Rowsey of Batesville, MS; 2 granddaughters, Leslie Kain & Sydney Kain both of Las Vegas, NV. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Frances was preceded in death by her 2 sisters, Fisher Hubbard and Helen Bevill.
