Geneva Duvall Appleton, age 94, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 9, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Batesville, MS.
A funeral for Mrs. Appleton will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday morning at Wells.
Mrs. Geneva was born to Charlie Watson & Leona V. Edwards Duvall in Sunflower County, MS on November 24, 1919. She worked as an Licensed Practical Nurse and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville, MS.
Those family members she leaves behind include 2 sons: Billy Wilson of Walls, MS and Charles Appleton of Batesville, MS; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Sorrells; two sons, Pete Sullivan & Phillip Appleton; and one grandson, Joseph Sullivan.
