Martha Frances Newman

Martha Frances Newman, age 69, passed away Wednesday evening, 1/29/14, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. The funeral service for Mrs. Newman will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel, interment to follow in Bethel Cemetery, Enid, MS. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Wells. Mrs. Newman was born to Thomas Everett & Annie Estell Burk Mehan on July 17, 1944 in Panola County, MS. She was a graduate of the Pope High School Class of 1962. Martha Frances was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her survivors include her husband, James Charles "Butch" Newman, Jr. of Eupora, MS; 4 sons, Robert D. Newman of Teneesee, James C. Newman, III of Singnal Mountain, TN, Thomas E. Newman of Norfolk, VA and Michael Newman of Ackerman, MS and 9 grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Mehan Newton.
