Martha Davis Franklin, age 88, passed away Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014 at her home in Batesville, MS.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, 2/1/14, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Strange, Rev. Ronnie Luke & Rev. Raymond Aven officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Those honored to serve as Pallbearers include: Aaron Cowart, David Curtis, James Albert Cook, Donnie Cook, John Cook & Chad Davis. Serving as an Honorary Bearer is Charles Cook.
Ms. Martha was born to Henry & Lizzie Lee Munlin Bradley on July 6, 1925 in Crenshaw, MS. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Batesville.
Her survivors include 2 daughters, Becky Bryant of Batesville and Beverly Luke of Eastpoint, FL; 5 sons, Eddie H. Davis of Coker, AL, Tony Davis of Moundville, AL, Lamar Davis of Charleston, MS, Darnel Davis of Mobile, AL and Wayne Davis of Tuscaloosa, AL; one sister, Dora Crawford of Memphis, TN; 29 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Including her parents, she was preceded by her husband, William Harold Davis; one daughter, Martha Herring; brother, J.C. Bradley and a sister, Ruth Cook.
