Rod C. Bolen, 63, of Arlington, TN passed away Saturday afternoon at his brothers home in Bartlett, TN.
Funeral services for Rod will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, MS. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at 11:00 A.M. Rod's pastor, Reverend Eddie Little will officiate the service.
Rod was born July 23, 1950 in Lambert, MS to the late Joseph and Vivian (Neecie) Bounds Bolen. Rod served out of the Highland Station Post Office as a postal carrier for 25 years. He also served his country in the United States National Guard. Rod was a member of First Baptist Church of Hickory Withe. In his past time, Rod enjoyed flying his ultralight plane and reading. He had a great love for animals, as he kept a pocket full of dog biscuits to feed to the dogs he came in contact with on his route. Rod also loved his trips he would to take to get away in Mt. Home, AR. Later in life he and his brother, Allen, spent some special time together while staying in shape and working out.
Rod is survived by his brother, Allen G Bolen (Jeanne) of Bartlett, TN, and his sister, Phyllis Johnson (Robert) of Eads, TN.
