Cornelia E. Franklin McCullar

July 23, 1917 — January 24, 2014

Cornelia E. Franklin McCullar, age 96, passed away Friday evening, 1/24/14, at her home in Como, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, 1/27/14, at the Como United Methodist Church, 101 N. Main St., Como, MS with Dr. Tom Atkins presiding. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Cemetery, Batesville, MS. Mrs. McCullar's family will receive friends and extended family one hour prior to the service in the church. Cornelia was born to Richard & Hattie Anderson Franklin on July 23, 1917 in Batesville, MS. She worked as a Sales Associate in Memphis, TN for M.M. Cohn for 25 years. Being a member of Como United Methodist Church, the Como Home & Garden Club and Como Civic Club, she truly enjoyed living in, and being a part of Como, MS. Having enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending countless hours with her family, Mrs. McCullar led a happy, full life. Many will remember her being a former Founding Family member of the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church of Batesville. Her family members, which she leaves behind include one daughter, Pamela J. Martins (Craig) of Como, MS; son, Thomas E. McCullar (Pauline) of Batesville, MS and 9 grandchildren: William K. Richardson, Michael K. Richardson, Donald K. Richardson, Lori Beth Masters (Tim), Mary Frances McCullar, Tomianne Schmidt (Hans), Becky Jane Davenport (Nathan), Thomas Joseph Martins, Savannah Leigh Martins; along with 8 great-grandchildren. At the families request, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, 4830 McWillie Circle, Jackson, MS 39206, or the Como United Methodist Church, 101 North Main Street, Como, MS, 38619.
