Harvey Gayle Bridges, age 63, husband of Patricia Bridges, passed away Thursday evening, January 16, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Funeral services for Mr. Bridges will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at The Crowder Assembly of God Church in Crowder, MS. Bro. Murphy Eubanks & Bro. Lucian Young will officiate the home going service of Mr. Bridges. Interment will follow in Crowder Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, January 19, 2014, at Wells Funeral Home. Those proudly serving as pallbearers will be: Barry Bridges, Bart Bridges, Bert Bridges, Harvey Gayle Bridges, II, Murray Blake Bridges, Brady Daniel and Jeremy Moore. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Fred Pinion and Tommy Mitchell. Harvey was born in Lambert, MS on January 5, 1951 to Gilbert Bernard & Geraldine Calvert Bridges. For 28 years he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Midwest Operating Engineers. He attended Crowder Assembly of God Church. Mr. Harvey was an avid outdoorsman, who spent countless hours hunting and fishing. Gardening was another hobby he took pride in. Dominoes and playing cards were among the indoor activities he leisurely enjoyed. But, spending time with his friends and family was what made Harvey the happiest! The loving family whom he leaves behind includes his wife of 41 years, Patricia Jones Bridges of Crowder, MS; 2 daughters, Cristal Harris (Brian) of Wilson, AR and Amanda Daniel (Brady) of Olive Branch, MS; 2 sons, Harvey Gayle Bridges II (Charlotte) of Batesville, MS, and Murray Blake Bridges (Tiffany) of Batesville, MS; sisters, Donna Scarbrough (Wayne) of Trinity, AL, Melissa Moore (Wayne) of Lambert, MS and one brother, Gilbert Murray Bridges (Lana) of Crowder, MS. His 11 grandchildren include, Luana, Kayli, Madison, Harvey Gayle III, Bernard, Johnson Gray, Colt Bridges, Jalen Bridges, Lakin, Emersyn and Ethan. His family members who have gone on before him include his parents; one sister, Ann Bridges Harrison and two brothers, Paul Bridges and Gilliam Bridges.
