Bettye B. Brown

Bettye B. Brown, age 87, widow of R.E. Brown, passed away Monday afternoon, 1/13/14, at Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City, AR. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, 1/19/14, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Jones, presiding. The Brown family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Mrs. Brown will be buried in Memorial Gardens, Clarksdale, MS. Bettye, the daughter of Doyle Pinkston & Griffin Pinkston was born in Helena, Arkansas on September 3, 1926. She worked as an LPN for 10 years at Greenbough Nursing Home in Clarksdale. Mrs. Bettye was an avid reader. She would spend hours reading the dictonary and encyclopedias so she could gain knowledge about those things which were unfamiliar to her. Bettye never wanted to stop learning. Those family members she leaves behind include her daughter, Dianna Brown Jones (Charlie) of Greenwood, MS; one son, Rev. Terry Brown (Patricia) of Moro, AR, formerly of Batesville, MS; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.E. Brown and her brother, Griffin "Bubba" Pinkston.
