Video Memorial TributeIda Marlene Daugherty, age 82, passed away Friday evening, January 10, 2014, at her home in Courtland, Mississippi. Mrs. Daugherty is the widow of the late Thomas Selmer Daugherty. Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 13, 2014 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery near Pope, MS. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Raymond Aven will be officiating the services. Marlene was born on Sunday March 1, 1931 in Rome, MS to the late Grover and Pearl White Pearson. She was a Ceritfied Nurses Assistant and member of the New Hope Church of God in Batesville, MS. Marlene is survived by her three daughters, Carolyn Daugherty Peters of Memphis, TN, Kathleen Daugherty Bonner of Courtland, MS, Joan Daugherty Zimmer of Sardis, MS; three sons, James Daugherty of Courtland, MS, Jimmy Daugherty of Memphis, TN, Gary Daugherty of Batesville, MS; sister, Janie Orr of Birmingham, AL; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four children, Mary Jane Forgarty, Tony Daugherty, Tommy Daugherty, Bobby Daugherty, and two grandchildren, Jeffery Daugherty and Jessica Pruett.
