Claiborne Leon Collier, Sr.

Claiborne L. Collier, Sr., age 73, passed away early Saturday morning, 1/4/14, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, Mississippi. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel. The Collier family will receive friends from Noon until service time on Tuesday. Mr. Collier was born to Oscar David & Marie Winstead Collier on January 30, 1940, in Inverness, MS. He served his country as Lance Corporal in the United States Marines. Claiborne was a member of the North Batesville Baptist Church. Those whom survive him, include his wife, Barbara Bramlett Collier of Batesville, MS; 2 daughters, Deborah Anne Holland also of Batesville and Donna Griffin (Mike) of Coldwater, MS; 2 sons, Clay Collier and David Collier (Sandy), both of Sardis, MS; one sister, Mifred Killn; 8 grandchildren, Anthony Griffin, Nathan Griffin, Kelsey Shrum, Dakota Holland, David Dickson, Madison Colier, Austin Dickson, and Heather Collier, and 2 great grandchildren, Michael Griffin & Aiden Stafford. Those whom he preceded in death include his parents, 2 sisters, Carmen Richards and Gladys Burks, one brother, James David Collier, and 2 grandchildren, Bryan Griffin & Hannah Collier.
