Monday, December 30, 2013 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Long Creek Cemetery near Courtland, MS. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at 12:00 Noon. John was born October 30, 1965 in Batesville, MS to John Wilbert Poynor and Betty Ruth Ragon Poynor Alexander. John was a construction worker. He is survived by a daughter, Brittany Beard of Batesville, MS, son, James Dewey Boyd of Courtland, MS; mother, Betty Poynor Alexander of Oakland, MS; two sisters, Debbie Poynor Lantrip of Pope, MS, Tina Poynor Bannister of Jackson, MS; two brothers, Toby Poynor of Pope, MS, Joseph Dees of Nashville, TN; grandfather, Leon Braswell of Batesville, MS and three grandchildren.
