Charles Laten Howell

Charles Laten Howell, age 86, passed away at his home in Oakland, MS Saturday morning, December 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 12/17/2013 at 2:00 PM in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eugene Walden officiating. Interment will be in Forrest Memorial Park. The Howell family will recieve friends at 12:30 PM until the service time. Mr. Howell was born August 27, 1927 in Columbia, TN to Clarence Elmer and Luriene Bell Howell. Charles worked in the metal industry as a tool & die maker. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a Mason and a member of the Spring Hill Baptist of Oakland, MS. He leaves his wife Virginia Smith Howell of Oakland, MS; Daughter: Sharen Howell McKee (William) of Memphis, TN; Sister: Lois Howell Ramsey of Memphis, TN; 3 Brothers: Jerry Howell of Sommerville, TN, Edward Larry Howell of Millington, TN, John Carlton "Pete" Howell of Oxford, MS, along with 4 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Elmer and Luriene Bell Howell; Son: Charles Laten Howell, II and his late wife Alberta Cook Howell.
