Video Memorial TributeBetty Jo Holland age 87, widow of James N. Holland, died Monday morning 12/9/13 at her home in Crowder, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, 12/12/13 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jess Chadwick & Rev. Larry Kilgore will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home. Betty Jo was born to James Thomas & Eula Kathleen Kilgore Terry on Sept. 20, 1926 in Big Creek, MS. She was a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church. Mrs. Holland was a retired Registered Nurse having worked in Clarksdale at the Coahoma County Hospital many years ago. After she left there, she went on to practice nursing with the Department of Health; having worked in the Quitman County Health Department. After retiring from the state, Betty Jo decided to continue nursing, so she went to work for Delta Healthcare in Marks, Mississippi. Those family members she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 3 sons, James Curtis Holland of Crowder, Harold "Pee Wee" Holland also of Crowder and Terry Dee Holland of Gretna, LA; one sister, Billie Terry Cox (Wallace) of Carriere, MS; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, Betty Jo was preceded in death by two sisters, Della Mae Hester Reed and Jimmie Terry Simon.
