Arvie L.J. Morrow, age 83, widower of the late Mary P. Morrow, passed away at his home in Batesville, MS, Monday evening, October 7, 2013.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Batesville. The Morrow family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening, 10/11/13.
L.J. was born to Elizabeth L. Glenn & Henry Julius Morrow, Sr. on November 28, 1929 in Hamilton, Alabama. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Batesville. Mr. Morrow was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean conflict. He had retired from MDOT in 1989 after 25 years of service as an Equipment Mechanic Master. Mr. L.J. was also a farmer. He loved his family and the people in the community. Many will remember him as a very giving individual.
Mr. Morrow's survivors include: a daughter: Denise Morrow of Batesville; son: Kenny Morrow (Kim) of Goodlettsville, TN; granddaughter: Danielle Williams (Sam) of Nashville, TN; 2 sisters: Miriam Koerner of Barnett, MO and Helen Grace White of Senatobia, MS.
Besides his parents, he was preceded by his Wife: Mary Patricia O'Shea Morrow; 1 son; Carl Leonard Morrow; 5 sisters: Ann Stratton, Eunice Legge, Vera Shields, Mary Burns and Jeanette Rowsey; and one brother: Julius Morrow, Jr.
