Video Memorial TributeMarilyn "Pat" Mitchell, age 76, passed away on Monday morning, October 7, at Sardis Nursing Home.
Funeral services for Ms. Pat will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Locke presiding. Interment to follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Enid, MS. Visitation will take place from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, and from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday.
Marilyn was born to Charles Theron & Thelma Mae Benson Lackey in Burr Oak, KA on June 18, 1937. She has lived in the Enid area since 1959. For years she worked alongside her husband, Walter, as his secretary and bookkeeper in their land surveying business. Later in life Pat went to work as a Dental Assistant for Dr. William Anderson in Charleston, MS. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Enid.
Her survivors include: 2 daughters: Virginia Parker of Courtland, MS and Melissa Mitchell of Enid, MS; 3 sisters: Jackie Jackson of Las Vegas, NV, Karenita Espinoza of Denver, CO, Dottie Belvin of Las Vegas; 1 brother: Larry Lackey of Denver, CO; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edward Mitchell and one grandson, Jacob Lane.
Serving as pallbearers: Joshua Lane, Michael Gann, Parker Rodgers, Ryan Hammond, Jimmy Paris and Richard Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Lambert and Steven Parker.
