Virgie Lee Scruggs

Virgie Lee B. Scruggs, age 78, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, 8/21/13, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, North MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, 8/24/13, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Reed. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Scruggs will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, 8/23/13, at Wells Funeral Home. She was born in Panola County on December 23, 1934 to Lottie Leona Perkins & Virgil Augustus Bay. Mrs. Scruggs was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church, Sardis, MS. Also, in her spare time, Mrs. Scruggs was an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Water Valley. Those whom she leaves behind include her daughter, Sylvia (John) Scruggs Sartin of Sardis, MS; one son, Tim (Monica) Scruggs, also of Sardis; her brother, Jim Bay of Batesville, MS; along with 5 grandchildren, Dustin Sartin, Patty Lewellen, Aden Toner, Dakota Pierce, Nevada Pierce; 4 great grandchildren, Johnathan Sartin, Tyler McGregory, Megan Still and Robert Pierce. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Scruggs was prededed in death by her husband, Jimmie Scruggs along with one sister, Judy Myles.
