Francis Tatum Tidwell

Video Memorial TributeFrancis Tatum Tidwell, age 95, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 2013 at Sardis Community Nursing Home. She was the widow of William Doris Tidwell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Payne officiating. Burial to follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from Noon until service time on Thursday at Wells. Mrs. Tidwell was born in Taylor, MS on June 3, 1918 to Brooks & Corrine Rowsey Tatum. She was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church and a homemaker. Francis will be dearly missed by her family, which includes, two daughters, Linda Carol Lawrence and Robbie Louise Polland both of Batesville; sons, William Wayne Tidwell of Batesville, Larry Brooks Tidwell of Batesville and Joe Allen Tidwell of Oxford; two sisters, Mildred Ann Lawback of Kansas and Jeanette Williams of Memphis, TN; one brother, Joe Tatum of Coldwater, MS; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded by her husband, William Doris Tidwell; daughter, Dorothy Ann Griffin; and a great grandchild, Samuel David "Davy" Bryant, III. Pallbearers for Mrs. Tidwell include: Brent Holloway, Bailey Lawrence, Shane Phelps, Adam Tidwell, Joe Tidwell & Mark Tidwell.
