Video Memorial TributeNell Callihan Hubbard, age 75, wife of Tony Hubbard, passed away Sunday morning, July 14, 2013 at her home in Pope, MS.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Pope, MS. Mr. Robert Rawson will officiate her homegoing service. The Hubbard family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.
Nell was born to H.L. & Evelyn L. Randall Callihan on May 13, 1938 in Batesville, MS. She was a graduate of The Mississippi College for Women. In February of 1962, Nell wed Tony Hubbard and they became members of the Pope community where they remained throughout the years. Mrs. Hubbard touched many lives through her years as a school teacher. Not only did she retire with 30 years of dedicated service in education field; she was also a Park Ranger for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Sardis Lake where she retired after a 20 year tenure. Mrs. Nell was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Pope, MS.
Her legacy will live on through her family, which includes her husband of 51 years, Tony Hubbard of Pope; two daughters, Brenda Hubbard Morrow (Randy) and Wanda Hubbard both of Batesville, MS; son, Dr. Ty Hubbard of Oxford, MS; sister, Patty Roberts of Meridian, MS; brother, Bob Callihan of Batesville; four grandchildren, Blake Daugherty (Tanya), Amber Daugherty, Ben Hubbard and Elizabeth Hubbard; along with 2 great grandchildren who are on the way: Calli & Cruz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Callihan.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Alton Pollan, Craig Gordon, Scott Harrison, Bennie Abson, Billy Williams and Zane Hale.
