Video Memorial TributeJohn C. Broome, III, age 86, passed away Friday morning, July 5, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Batesville, MS with Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday afternoon at the church.
Mr. Broome was born to Lucille Todd & John C. Broome, Jr. on February 20, 1927 in Batesville, Mississippi. He worked 36 years across the south and retiring in Batesville from Tennessee Gas Company, as a manager. Mr. John was a member of First Baptist Church and also served in the United States Army during World War II.
Among his survivors, he leaves his loving wife, Mrs. Betty Broome of Batesville; 2 sons, Barry Broome (Amy) of Conway, AR, Todd Broome (Julie) of Frisco, TX; daughter, Barbara Broome Crew (Tom) of Cleburne, TX; 3 sisters, Louise Broome Thurman of Bowling Green, KY, Nell Broome Baker of Batesville, MS and Edna Broome Scott of Bartlett, TN; 8 grandchildren, Nathan Broome, Sara Sydes, Hallie Broome, Valerie Kline, Melanie Neill, Jordan Broome, Josh Broome and Rachel Broome; 2 great grandchildren, Kimber Broome and Kolt Neill.
Besides his parents, he was preceded by one brother, Robert Broome.
