Jack A. Cobb, age 56, husband of Judge Vicki Beardain Cobb, of Batesville, MS, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 119 Panola Ave., Batesville, MS with Rev. Ed Temple, Rev. Pat Ludlam and Rev. Willie Frost presiding. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22nd, at Wells Funeral Home.
Jack was born on January 13, 1957 in Lambert, Mississippi to Jasper Darrell & Flora May Atkinson Cobb. He was a 1975 graduate of Delta Academy, Marks, MS. In 2009 Jack graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in Liberal Arts. He was a self employeed contractor who also worked many years as a farm manager. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, watching football, working, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife, Judge Vicki Beardain Cobb of Batesville, MS, daughter, Erica Cobb Garrett (Matthew) of Dundee, MS, 4 sons, Jacob Cobb (Jessica) of Batesville, MS, Jasper Cobb (Nicole) of Starkville, MS, Forrest Wilbanks (Victoria) of Batesville, MS and Rush Wilbanks (Ashley) of Dallas, TX, one sister, Jean Cobb Mixon (Charles) of Suches, GA, brother, Larry Cobb (Kay) of Oxford, MS, granddaughter, Haven Dawn Wilbanks of Batesville and his mother, Flora May Atkinson Cobb of Oxford, MS.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Darrell Cobb and one brother, Percy Rex Cobb.
