Loyd M. Myles, age 87, widower of Maxine Tullis Myles and Jewel Bay Myles, passed away on Saturday afternoon, May 18, 2013 in Golden Living Center, Batesville, MS.
Mr. Myles funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Hal Johnson presiding. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Enid, MS. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday until service time at Wells Funeral Home.
Loyd was born in Water Valley, MS on June 10, 1925 to Joe & Ada Alexander Myles. He was a retired carpenter and member of Courtland Church of Christ. Mr. Myles served in the Army during World War II.
His survivors include his daughter, Shirley Myles Gregg of Pope, MS, Christine Yarbro of Jonesboro, AR, along with 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Myles Allison; three sisters, Mabel Gordon, Emma Myles Hughes, Fair Lee Hernandez and Pauline Myles Terry along with three brothers, Bob Myles, Earl Myles and Lois Myles and great-grandchild, Brittney Allison.
Those serving as pallbearers will be David Gammon, Jerry Gammon, Gary Martin, Blake Halley, Greg Miller and Jerry Gregg.
