Joseph P. Walker, Sr., 74, of Oakland, MS, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at his home. Graveside services for Mr. Walker will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at New Salem Cemetery in Atoka, TN. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Wells Funeral Home and on Friday, April 12, 2013, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Munford Funeral Home, 1136 Tipton Rd, Munford, TN. Joseph was born in the Kerrville community near Millington, TN to Sally Pearl Huddleston & John Anthony Walker, on December 8, 1938. Mr. Walker worked as a Mechanic for Dupont in Memphis, TN for 32 years. His survivors include 2 sons, Joseph P. Walker, Jr. of Memphis, TN and John David Walker also of Memphis, TN, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lloyd Walker, and a son, Rick Walker.
