Robert Daniel (Danny) Alewine, age 70, passed away at his home Thursday morning, April 4, 2013 near Courtland, MS. Mr. Alewine's service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terrell McGreger & Dr. James Fortinberry officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Pope, MS. The Alewine family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening, April 5, 2013 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Danny was born on June 5, 1942 in Pope, Mississippi to F.C. "Peaches" & Dolly Ophelia Ragon Alewine. He will be remembered by many as an Automobile Mechanic. Mr. Alewine was a member of the Tocowa Baptist Church. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Ethel Fortinberry Alewine of Courtland, a daughter, Debbie Alewine Moore (Ricky) of Courtland, MS, Step-Son, David Mockbee of Germany, 4 sisters, Francis Alewine Garrison, McCarley, MS, Ann Alewine Hudspeth of Senatobia, MS, Carol Alewine Cook of Como and Claudette Alewine Wages of Senatobia, 2 brothers, David Alewine and Steve Alewine, both of Courtland, MS, 3 grandchildren, Tiffanie Gatlin, Tyler Moore and David Mockbee, III, along with 3 precious great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Joan Jordan Alewine, 3 brothers, Rodney Wayne Alewine, Larry Alewine and Billy Alewine along with one sister, Delores Cook.
