Robert Dean Willard, age 79, of Enid, MS, passed away at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS on March 31, 2013.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, 4/3/13 at Wells Funeral Home.
Mr. Willard was born on June 29, 1933 in Etta, Mississippi to James Otis & Erma Castleberry Willard. He served in the U.S. Army was a retired welder after 27 years at E.I. Dupont Chemical Company. Robert helped organize the Sardis Lake Fire Department and he also was a former fire chief at the Department. Presently he was an active firefighter with the Enid Fire Dept. Mr. Willard was an ordained deacon and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Enid, MS.
He leaves his wife, Mary Whitener Willard of Enid, MS, one daughter, Rhonda Willard Turpin (Danny) of Millington, TN, one son, Roger Willard, of Enid, 4 sisters, 4 brothers, 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Bricco of Hawaii, Gina Travis of Bartlett, TN, Brett Willard of Bartlett, TN and Brandon Turpin of Atoka, TN along with 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his Step-Mother, Irene Willard.
