Ella Ruth Epps Young, age 97, passed away Thursday evening, March 28, 2013 at Baptist Desoto Hosppital in Southaven, MS. Reverend Charles Lipe will officiate the funeral service on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Oxford, MS with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Batesville, MS. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Clear Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Ella Ruth was born in Panola County, Mississippi on October 22, 1915 to Samuel Edward & Jennie Ruth Duke Epps. She was a homemaker and member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Oxford. Mrs. Young's surviors include her 2 daughters, Cora Lee Pierce (Albert) of Haleyville, AL, Mildred Ann Adderholt (David) of Ooltewah, TN, 3 sons, David Wyatt Young (Sandra) of Laurel, MS, Charles Albert Young (Becky) of Hernando, MS, Phillip Duane Young (Teresa) of Olive Branch, MS, 3 sisters, Evelyn Epps of Batesville, Jewel Harwood of Batesville, Maxine Dowd of Memphis, TN and 2 brothers, Byron Epps of Cookville, TN and Clifford Epps of Horn Lake, MS, 15 grandchildren: Elisabeth Anne MaGee (Ronnie), William Greg Young (Lori), Lynda Howze (Kib), Albert Pierce, Jr. (Rhonda), Jimmy Pierce (Peggy), Renee Pierce, Melody Easley (Mark), Kee Adderholt (Laura), Matthew Adderholt (Carly) Brian Adderholt (Sarah), Scott Young (Cortney), Ray Young, Michael Young, Petha Busby, Matthew McKee and 27 great grandchildren. Those whom she preceded include her husband, William Leroy Young, 2 sons, William Edward Young and Timothy Scott Young, 1 sister, Mildred Baird, and 2 brothers, William Edward Epps and J.D. Epps. Pallbearers include: Greg Young, Scott Young, Matthew Young, Ray Young, Kee Adderhold, Matthew Adderholt, Al Pierce and Jimmy Pierce.
