Howard Shields

Howard Shields, age 85, widower of the late Mary Louise Shields, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Providence Assisted Living Home in Senatobia, MS. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 26, 2013, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Howard was born to Clifton & Birdie May Shields on August 1, 1927 in Memphis, TN. He entered the United States Navy in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1947. Howard worked as a maintenance man and was a Pentecostal by faith. Those survivors who will cherish his memory include, his daughter, Billie Ruth Shields Collier of Horn Lake, MS, son, Gene Shields of Water Valley, MS, 2 sisters, Laverne Adams of Silver Creek, MS and Birdie Gehbaurer of Thibodaux LA, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great gradnchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Shields, one daughter, Carolyn Shields Montalvo and a granddaughter, Alex Shields.
