Virginia Rowsey Nelson

Virginia Rowsey Nelson, 87, passed away Friday afternooon, March 1, 2013 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Mrs. Nelson is the widow of the late Jessie C. Nelson. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. Reverend Ray Owens will be offciating and visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at 12:00 Noon. Mrs. Nelson was born February 6, 1926 in Panola County, MS to the late Jesse Knox and Hester Finch Rowsey. She was a retired beautician and member of Pharsalia Baptist Church. Mrs. Nelson loved working in her garden and cooking. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Nelson Spiva of Sardis, MS; grandson and caregiver, Greg Munday and his wife, Ruth of Olive Branch, MS; niece, Barbara Dettor of Sardis, MS; three nephews, Tommy Rowsey of Pope, MS, Grady Wilson of Starkville, MS and Mike Beaird of D'Iberville, MS.
