Sallie Mae Sturdivant Robison, age 95, died on Tuesday afternoon, 2/26/13, at Golden Living Nursing Facility, Batesville, MS. She was the widow of Lawrence "Junior" Robison, Jr.
Mrs. Robison's family will receive friends on Friday Morning, 3/1/13, from 11:00 a.m. -12:15 p.m. for visitation at Wells Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. on Friday in Magnolia Cemetery, Batesville, MS with the Reverends Melodie and Steve Pointon presiding.
Mrs. Sallie was born in Como, MS to Joseph William & Irene Taylor Sturdivant. She worked as a First Grade teacher for 20 years at Batesville Elemetary School. Mrs. Robison was a Sunday School teacher at Batesville Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful member. She was also a member of Explorers Bible Study. Mrs. Robison enjoyed playing bridge, square dancing and playing the board game, "Social Security" with her friends. Sallie was a devoted wife to Mr. Lawrence for 72 years and attended to him throughout their life together.
Those whom she leaves behind include her daughter, Sandra Robison Davenport (Gene) of Birmingham, AL, 2 sons, Lawrence S. Robison, III (Joni) of Garner, NC and Rocky C. Robison (Diane) of Teasdale, MS, along with 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
