Bill McNamee

William P. "Bill" (Beefy) McNamee, 57, husband of Robbie Lawrence McNamee, passed away at his home in Batesville, MS Monday morning, February 4, 2013. Reverend Fish Robinson will officiate the funeral service for Bill at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park of Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Danny Tate, Blake Barnes, Chip Robertson, Joseph Kaufman, Charlie Parker, Ryan Belcher, Jason Belcher, Doug Mackey and those serving as honorary pallbearers are, Tank Conerly, Ray Poole, Stan Sandroni, Bobby Montgomery, Rodger Frazier, Chuck Forester, Ken Crain, Johnny Thompson and Alan Alford. Bill was born August 15, 1955 in Forrest City, AR to Pat and Mary Hale McNamee. Bill had a love for sports starting in his early childhood, as he was a starter in little league baseball and on through his pony league years. Bill also played football during high school at Forrest City High School in Arkansas, where he graduated in 1973. He went on to attend Ole Miss where he was a student manager from 1973-1974. Bill went on to the Univesity of Missouri and to S.M.U. as the equipment manager for 13 years from 1982 - 1995. He then made Batesville, MS his home and entered private business. Bill and his wife, Robbie are owners of R & B Tobacco Store. Bill was always known to be a giving person, having given to many charities, needy persons and causes. He enjoyed watching the faces of those he was able to help. He always said marrying his wife, Robbie, was the greatest thing he ever did. Bill leaves behind his loving and caring wife, Robbie Lawrence McNamee; step-daughter, Erica Renee Kaufman of Batesville, MS; step-son, Joseph Lawrence Kaufman of Batesville, MS; parents, Pat and Mary Hale McNamee of Forrest City, AR; sister, Judy (Terry) Belcher of Walnut Ridge, AR; three grandchildren, Kallie Daniel, Levi Daniel and Ann Hart Kaufman; two nieces, Gwen and Mary Mullen; two nephews, Jason (Melissa) Belcher and Ryan Belcher; mother and father in-law, Leon and Ann Lawrence; sister-in-law, Renee L. (Van) Boyd. He also is survived by Chip Robertson and Blake Barnes, whom he considered his brothers. Bill leaves his life long friends, Charlie Parker, Chuck Forester, Danny Tate and all of his "BIG DADDY'S". Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Joseph and Clara May Hale of Golden, MS; Pat and Lou McNamee of Water Valley, MS.
