Dorothy "Doris" Virginia Moorman Lawson Fowler, age 77, died on Friday morning, 1/11/13, in Oxford, MS at Baptist Memorial Hospital, North MS. The Fowler family will have a memorial service at later date in Gulfport, MS. Doris was born May 11, 1935 in Charleston, MS to the late Dexter D. and Nellie Jones Moorman. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory a husband, William R. Fowler of Enid, MS; five daughters, Barbara Hardy of Byhalia, MS, Sherry Matheny of Pass Christian, MS, Mary Lawson of Gulfport, MS, Bonnie Moran of Gulfport, MS, Patty Tilman of Gulfport, MS; two sisters, Mildred Alexander of Oakland, MS, Mary Bethune of Oakland, MS; brother, Wilson Moorman of Pleasant Hill, MS; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceding her in death besides her parents are two sisters, Willie Mae Farris, Peggy Patton and one brother, Harvey Moorman.
