Video Memorial TributeJohn Mark Pickett, age 52, husband of Rachel Pickett, died on Monday morning, 12/10/12, at his home in Pope, MS. The funeral service for John Mark will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 12/12/12, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Pope, MS. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. John Mark was born to Joseph Barney & Elizabeth Jones Pickett on July 5, 1960, in Memphis, TN. He graduated from South Panola High School then on to Northwest Community College. Afterwards he enrolled at The University of Tennessee-Martin, where he received his Agricultural Economics degree. John Mark was a Cattleman, Roper and Bulldogger. He received the Rookie of the Year Award in 1983 from The Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association (P.R.C.A.) Survivors include his wife, Rachel Callahan Pickett of Pope, MS, two children, Elizabeth Grayson Pickett & John Cade Pickett, his mother, Elizabeth Jones Pickett of Pope and 2 brothers, Joseph Rodney Pickett also of Pope and Joel Stanton Pickett of Greenville, IL.
