Video Memorial TributeMrs. Mildred V. Nelson Young, age 91, widow of Rev. Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Young, passed away at Golden Living Nursing Facility, in Batesville on Monday morning, 10/22/12.
The funeral service for Mrs. Young will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 10/24/12, at First Baptist Church, 104 Panola Ave., Batesville, with Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, 10/23/12, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mildred was born in Courtland, Mississippi on August 12, 1921, to John Thomas & Evelyn Bradford Nelson. She was a housewife and a Teacher's Assistant. Mrs. Young was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville where she was a member of the "Willing Workers" Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Mildred will be missed by her family, which includes, 4 daughters, Charlotte Christenberry (Joe) of Terrell, TX, Linda Dye (Gerald) of Batesville, MS, Vicki Crawley (Melvin) of Pontotoc, MS, Lisa Bennett (Joe) of Bruce, MS, 3 sons, James Young (Fran) of Tuscaloosa, AL, David Young (Sylvia) of Foxworth, MS and Ronnie Young (Lorette) of Houma, LA, 21 Grandchildren, 38 Great Grandchildren and 23 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her 5 sisters, Mary Ferrel, Annette Dugger, Lucille Young, Margaret Deaton and Louise Hall, 2 brothers, Lige Nelson and James Nelson.
