Cecil E. Gipson

Mrs. Cecil E. Gipson, age 82, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012, at her daughter's home in Bartlett, TN. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation beginning one prior to service at 10:00 A.M. Following the funeral service in Batesville, another visitation will be held at Munford Funeral Home - Millington Chapel, located at 7450 Raliegh-Millington Road, Millington, TN, from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. with a graveside service to follow at 3:30 P.M. in Northridge-Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington, TN. Mrs. Gipson was born April 11, 1930, in Memphis, TN, to the late Norman S. and Hattie L. Montgomery Rhew. After 38 years of service, Mrs. Cecil retired from Sears & Roebuck as a sales associate. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Pope, MS, and had taught Sunday School for over 60 years throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, Joseph M. Gipson of Oxford, MS; daughter, Constance M. Kellum of Bartlett, TN; son, William N. "Buddy" Maroon, Jr. of Memphis and one grandchild. Other than her parents, Mrs. Gipson was preceded in death by her first husband, William N. Maroon, Sr.
