Video Memorial TributeLavern Emily Jones Rodgers, age 76, wife of Bobby Joe Rodgers, of Batesville, MS, died Monday afternoon, 8/27/12, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Rodgers will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, 8/29/12, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rusty Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Lavern was born on April 5, 1936, in Marks, MS, to Frank & Beulah Parish Jones. She worked as the Youth Court Secretary in Quitman County for 30 years. She was an active member of Locke Station Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Rodgers of Batesville, MS, 3 daughters, Tawana Rodgers Jenkins, Kim Rodgers Darby and Jolanda "Joey" Rodgers Black, all of Batesville, MS; sister, Doris Jones Pittman of Teasdale, MS, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Joey D. Black, Dennis Darby, James Jenkins, Royce Locke, Bobby Scott & Tommy Joe Pittman will be serving as Pallbearers. Besides her parents, Mrs. Lavern was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Jones, Jr. and a daughter, Deborah Rodgers McNalley.
