Video Memorial TributeRetired Master Sgt. Albert E. "Gene" Schiele, age 67, husband of Carol Schiele, of Lambert, MS, passed away Saturday evening August 18, 2012.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Calvin "Skippy" King & Reverend Charles Melton officiating. The interment will follow in Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, MS. Serving as Pallbearers for his service, BJ Schiele, Big Schiele, Charles Schiele, Jason Schiele, Spencer Schiele and Billy Joe Melton. Honorary Pallbearers, Jay Baxter, Jason Cook & Justin Cook. Visitation for Mr. Schiele will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.
Gene was born May 30, 1945 in Grenada, MS, to the late John Ed and Christine Moore Schiele. Upon receiving his high school diploma, Gene enlisted in the U.S. Army and retired after 20 years of honorable service to his country. After retiring from the Army, he and his wife of 42 years, Carol Ann, moved to Lambert, MS where he loved his tractors and worked for fun. Gene would always put himself last and no one loved their grandchildren more than he did his own. He had a passionate love for his family and the outdoors and was always eager to help his fellow man. Gene always took care of Carol Ann and held a special place in his heart for his beloved friend, Pete.
Other than his wife, Carol Ann Melton Schiele, he is survived by two daughters, Misti and Chelsey Schiele of Lambert, MS; two sons, Victor Schiele of Fayetteville, N.C., Chris Schiele of Corinth, TX; five brothers, William Schiele of Onalaska, TX, Thomas "Chick" Schiele of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Stanley "Tootie" Schiele and Randy Schiele of Lake Charles, LA, Charles "Beatle" Schiele of Cashier, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Blaze, Savanah, Frankie, Katie, Nathan, Kristine, Bryce, Jocelyn, Madison, Hayden and Dillon; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Ann Elmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Schiele and four brothers, Paul Dean Schiele, James Schiele, Robert Schiele, and Darrell "Bug" Schiele.
