Video Memorial TributeDeley Smith Bowles age 69, widow of Charles Laverne Bowles, died Monday afternoon 8/13/12 at her home in Sledge, MS.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matt Hill officiating. Ricky Brown, T.J. Franklin, Allen McNally, Michael Stephens, Tommy Vest, Jim Tutor, Randy Stephens and James Vest will be serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Peach Creek Cemetery near Sardis, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Bowles will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bowles was born April 7, 1943 in Batesville, MS to the late Clarence and Mattie Lee Thetford Smith.
Deley was a retired cashier for Wal-Mart in Clarksdale, MS and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in the Curtis-Locke Station community near Batesville, MS.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Bowles Stephens of Sledge, MS, Pammie Bowles Dogan of Enid, MS; two sisters, Linda Mae Smith Fox of Batesville, MS, Joann Smith Allred of Oxford, MS; brother, Mack Smith of Batesville, MS; six grandchildren and three great-grandhchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Bowles in death, besides her husband and parents, are a son, Richard Bowles and her brother, William "Bubba" Smith.
