Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 8/3/12, in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sonnie Houston presiding. Interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, 8/2/12, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home.
Mary was born in Memphis, TN on January 8, 1955 to Lemual Maxwell & Frances Houston Johns. She was an entrepreneur and a member of The Locke Station Baptist Church.
Her survivors include, her loving companion, Bud Samuels of Sardis, MS; her daughter, Wendy Cook Isbell (Kirk) of Sardis, MS; 2 sons, Travis Cook (Pam) of Batesville and Jonathan Johns (Beth) of Batesville; her sister, Sissy Johns Wilson of Batesville; 2 brothers, David Johns of Indianola, MS and Johnny Johns of Crowder, MS; 6 Grandchildren: Bradley Griffin, Bret Griffin, Whitney Isbell, Brooke Isbell, Maribeth Johns and Bryer Cook; 2 great grandchildren, Gavin Griffin & Gunner Griffin.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Mayes LeQueux, a sister, Diane Johns Ward and one brother, Reed Holiday.The family requests that any memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
