James Tate Scott, Jr., Age 80, passed away Saturday morning, May 26, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday morning 5/29/12 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Batesville, MS with Reverend Pat Ludlam and Reverend Ed Woodall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before services. Mr. Scott was born March 29, 1932 in Batesville, MS to James Tate Scott, Sr. and Laura Profilet Scott. James was retired self-employed furniture merchant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of BAtesville, MS. He is survived by 2 Daughters: Kelly Scott of Oxford, MS and Kimberly Scott Ratliff of Atascadero, CA; 2 Sons: James Tate "Jim" Scott, III of Oxford, MS and Jory Emile Scott of Taylorsville, MS; 2 Sisters: Mary Ann Scott Lacy of El Dorado, AR and Melanie Scott Yelton of Batesville, MS; and 7 Grandchildren.
