Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, 5/16/12, at Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Beard officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Pope, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, 5/15/12. Martha was born on March 15, 1951 in Batesville, MS to James Edward "Foots" & Ester Louise Daugherty Beard. She was a Professional Hair Stylist who had worked at Durhams Hair Salon for the past 20 years. Martha was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Her survivors include her son, Eddie Ray Reed, Jr. of Walls, MS and 2 brothers, Larry Gene Beard and wife Pat of Courtland and Albert Lee and wife Anne Beard of Courtland, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to The Panola County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1756, Batesville, MS 38606. Eric Beard, Joseph Beard, Victor Harris, Wade Merriman, Tony Robertson, John Fowler and Dale Tutor will be serving as pallbearers. Robert Beard and J.W. Beard will be Honorary pallbearers for Martha's service.
