Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeBobby Gene Scruggs, of Sardis, MS, passed away Saturday morning, April 28, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Union Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery near Sardis, MS. The family of Mr. Scruggs will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. David King, Levi Scruggs, Taylor Scruggs, Dale Bryant, Sam Horton, Scott Goodnight, Eddie James and T.J. Talley will be serving as pallbearers. Jerry Goodnight and James Rudd wil be honorary pallbearers. Bobby was born January 3, 1931 in Panola Coutny, MS to the late Lorenzo Dowell and Esma Lawley Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs was the former owner of Bob's Bar-B-Que in Sardis, MS, as well as, an U.S. Air Force veteran having been honorable discharged in 1958. He attended Union Baptist Church. Mr. Scruggs is survived by his wife, Bobbie Moore Scruggs of Sardis, MS; daughter, Debbie Scruggs Cornelison of Bartlett, TN; three sons, Roger Scruggs and wife Vicky of Sardis, MS, Doug Scruggs of Nesbit, MS, Jeff Scruggs of Southaven, MS; brother, Billy Eugene Scruggs of West Point, MS. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Brandy Arnold, Amanda LaMasters, Stephanie Boyett, Sarah Cornelison, Kindyl Scruggs, Levi Scruggs and Taylor Scruggs; also six great-grandchildren, D.G Arnold, Zachary Carrico, Shane Carrico, Gage Scruggs, Beanna Henderson and Emily Boyett.
