Edna Mae McEwen Thames, 91, widow of the late Julius W. Thames, passed away Tuesday morning, April 24, 2012 at Tri Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Mr. Hal Johnson will be officiating. The family will recieve friends one hour prior to the scheduled funeral service. Jeremy Hailey, Robert Hudson, Jr., Bryan Hudson, Brad Hudson, Jacob Cosby, Maxwell Cosby, Ronald Hudson and William Charles Hudson will be serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Thames was born May 25, 1920 in Panola County, MS to the late Horace and Eugenia Ales Wallace. She was a retired saleslady for Hancock Fabric and a longtime member of Blackjack Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Thames leaves behind three sons, William Horace Hudson of Sardis, MS, Robert Edward "Red" Hudson of Batesville, MS, Spencer Hudson of Sumner, MS; sister, Bertha Hendrix of Batesville, MS; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren to cherrish her memory. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Cooper.
