Lawrence S. Robison, Jr.

Lawrence S. Robison, Jr. age 92, passed away on Tuesday morning, 4/17/12, at Baptist Memorial North MS in Oxford. Funeral services for Mr. Robison will be held on Thursday, 4/19/12, at 11:00 a.m. at The Batesville Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Steve Pointon presiding. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at The Batesville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Robison was born on September 29, 1919 in Batesville, MS to Alice Wooten Robison & Lawrence S. Robison, Sr. He was a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Robison was employeed with the U.S. Postal service for 36 years where he served as a mail carrier. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sallie S. Robison of Batesville, MS; 2 sons, Lawrence S. Robison, III and wife Joni of Garner, NC, Rocky C. Robison and wife Diane Busby Robison of Teasdale, MS; daughter, Sandra Robison Davenport and husband Gene of Birmingham, AL; sister, Betty Robison Carpenter of Batesville, MS; 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Bruce, Jack, Bob and Harry. The family asks that memorials be sent to The Batesville Presbyterian Church, 121 Eureka St., Batesville, MS 38606. Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Robison are Jack Robison, Bill Robison, Bobby Robison, Patrick Robison, Mack Robison and Will Davenport.
