Barbara Elizabeth Tate, age 72, widow of W.M. Tate, passed away on Monday morning, 4/16/12, in her home in Batesville.
Funeral servcies will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 4/18/12, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rusty Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch, MS. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, 4/17/12, at Wells Funeral Home.
Ms. Barbara was born on August 17, 1939 to Walter Albert & Elizabeth Mae Angell in Memphis, TN. She retired from Wal-Mart after 20 years of employement. Ms. Barbara was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked as a library volunteer.
She will be missed by her survivors, which include, 2 daughters, Dana Lynn Hood (Gary) of Batesville, MS, Amy Jo Ross (David) of Erie, PA; 1 sister, Sue Angell Menard of West Memphis, AR; 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. Tate, her son, Randy James Tate, and her brother, Walter Angell, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers for Ms. Barbara will be: Anthony Tate, Gary Hood, David Ross, Albert Angell, Todd Moore, and Parrish Donahue. John Payton Moore will serve as honorary pallbearer.
